Welcome to the Darling Church Memorial (DCMI)!
We’re here to honor the memory of the early settlers who built the Darling Church back in 1897. Though a fire took down the original building in 2017, the spirit of this place and the community it served lives on.
About Us
DCMI is a small nonprofit (501(c)(3)) formed in 2018 by folks who love the Darling Church and Cemetery in Morrison County, Minnesota. We’re all about keeping this special spot beautiful, sharing its stories, and making sure future generations can enjoy it too.
Our Mission & Three-Phase Plan
Our Mission
To celebrate the Darling Church’s rich history and create a space for prayer, reflection, and good times with neighbors.
Our Three-Phase Plan:
1️⃣ Phase 1 (done!): A memorial stone engraved with an image of the church and the poem “Ode to Darling,” plus two streetlights with cameras.
2️⃣ Phase 2 (coming soon!): A gazebo and kiosk filled with photos, stories, and a cemetery map.
3️⃣ Phase 3 (future dream!): Rebuild the church just like it was—or create a cozy little prayer chapel if full funding isn’t possible.
